So I'm often asked by collectors and fellow artist, what type of resin do you use?
In truth, I can't write up a comparison of resin products on the market because since day one, I've only ever used and trusted Art Resin... and I'll tell you why. When I first discovered the glorious world of resin, I frantically began researching the safest and best quality product on the market. And lets be honest, art materials are expensive therefore I also wanted a product that was cost effective.
Enter Art Resin. I'm not even certain how I came across the product... Instagram probably read my mind and listed an ad on my feed (shrug), regardless I quickly discovered that this product sounded amazing on paper for more than one significant reason. So I ordered my first gallon, torch, butane, and accessory pack.
My main concern as an artist is the toxicity of any product I use. Like a lot of artists, my art studio is in my home. I am a dog mom to two big rescues, who often like to hang out at mom's feet while she paints. Art Resin is not only non-toxic, it also has no VOC's, no fumes, is non-flammable, and a respirator is not needed.
An equal concern was the durability and yellowing factor that resin is infamous for. The last thing any artist wants is their resin yellowing over time and ruining their artwork. Apparently, the folks at Art Resin are wizards and have figured out how to prevent the yellowing process AND have added in a UV stabilizer (which according to their website and my personal experience using the product - protects against gloss loss, cracking, chalking and de-lamination). Whew! Serious mouthful, but all true things.
I will also add, that the product is super easy to use and always ships quickly with no additional shipping cost. Now as far as pricing goes, I do know there are cheaper products on the market, however given all of the boxes Art Resin checks, this superior product is worth every dollar. To date, I've probably gone through close to 19 gallons of Art Resin... so while I'm by far an expert, I'm definitely a customer for life.
